Cabbage America: Celery War

The Avengers are at odds as Charlotte and Laura review Captain America:Civil War, the next stop on their chronological tour of the MCU. They chat about the film's huge cast of characters, how it continues the MCU story arc, their favorite scenes, and more. Charlotte enjoys the heightened opposition between Cap and Iron Man, but feels that Tony is acting out of character. Laura wonders if Hawk-Eye is a double agent and draws parallels between Spiderman and Antman. Together the girls discuss the disservice to Black Widow's character, the romance between Wanda and Vision, and their excitement over the introduction of Black Panther. Is Captain America: Civil War a better Avengers film than Age of Ultron? Does the film suffer from the absence of Thor and the Hulk? And when will we finally get the Black Widow and Falcon standalone films??

For the Fun & Games segment, Charlotte had a new game: Match Up. Laura must choose which Avenger would win in a fight. Play along and tell us your Match Up winners in the comments!

Together, the girls dissect the show's place in the MCU, wish for a more significant storyline for Mack, and make the decision on whether to continue including it in their chronological review of the franchise. Why does agents Morse and Hunter leave the show so suddenly? Will we ever have to stop wondering if Daisy is trustworthy? And is Phil Coulson the ultimate ladies' man trapped in a dad bod?

Park-snips & Recreation (S2)

Charlotte and Laura are back to talking about small-town government in this week's episode of The Lettuce Podcast. They're chatting about Season 2 of Parks and Recreation. They discuss the changes in Leslie's characterization, Ann's romantic flaws, which episodes are their favorite of the season, and more. Charlotte shares why Tom is her favorite character, and why she doesn't like Andy. Laura shares her frustrations with Mark's unceremonious exit, and why she loves the April/Andy relationship. Together they discuss Ron's relationship with women (and his Woman of the Year award), share some fun facts about the creation of the show, and talk about the balance of personality qualities between Leslie and Ann. How does Leslie's year of casual dating help her character? Does Ann have a point about Mark's misguided commitment? And can we still love the character of Dave even though he's played by a problematic person? All this and more on this new episode of The Lettuce Podcast.

For the Fun & Games segment, Charlotte and Laura first sort the characters of Parks and Recreation into their appropriate Hogwarts Houses. Then they turn to Brain Fall to find out what Parks and Rec character they are!

If you want a drink to accompany watching some Season 2 episodes of Parks and Recreation, why not try a Galentine's Day? Laura mixed this celebration of ladies cocktail with vodka, strawberry lemonade, and grenadine. Garnish with a paper umbrella for extra Leslie Knope level fun!

Ant-Mango

Charlotte and Laura are suiting up for a different type of adventure on their journey through the MCU - Ant-Man! They join the heist with Scott Lange and chat about the unique cast of characters, brain power as a superpower, and more. Charlotte explains why she felt Darren Cross/Yellowjacket was a great villain, and what sets Ant-Man apart from the other heroes in the MCU. Laura identifies with Hope's frustration, and gets excited for T.I.'s part in the movie. Together the girls discuss why Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas were the perfect choices for their roles, share opinions on a certain unfortunate haircut, and discuss the films place within the overall MCU story. What was Scott Lang's life like before prison, and what led to the divorce from his wife? Does the heist plot have as much excitement as the typical combat-driven plots of the MCU? And does the romance between Scott and Hope make sense? All these topics and more are up for debate on this new episode of The Lettuce Podcast!

For the Fun & Games segment, Charlotte and Laura dust off an old TLP game: Alphabet Sentence to try to make a crazy Ant-Man themed sentence in ABC order. Then they mix fandoms by deciding what Game of Thrones house the Ant-Man characters belong in. Play along with "House of Thrones" and share your picks in the comments!

Cabbage of Ultron

Laura and Charlotte are back at it with their chronological journey through the MCU. On this all-new episode, they review the second group Avengers film: The Avengers: Age of Ultron. They chat about the Avengers old and new, how the film fits into the universe, and what sets it apart from the rest of the franchise. Laura has questions about Bruce's ability to control his anger, and says who she thinks the most human character is. Charlotte assesses Ultron as a villain, and reveals how Captain America was out of character for this film. Together the girls gush about their favorite new Avenger (who could it be?), reveal their favorite scene of the movie, and try to figure out why this film just doesn't work. Is Tony Stark the lowkey villain of this film? Why does Thor only show up to perpetuate the most important plot points? And why was a romance between Natasha and Bruce introduced that had no affect on the story and doesn't exist outside of this film??

For the Fun & Games segment, Laura and Charlotte played a classic TLP game: Kill, Marry, Pity Date. Play along with the girls and post your choices in the comments!

For the podtail this week, Laura chose an autumnal cocktail to represent the Mind Stone. This yellow concoction includes apple cider, pumpkin liquer, and dark rum! Enjoy hot or cold!

They chat about the long list of characters, Collins' world-building abilities, and compare the feature film to its source material. Charlotte loves learning more information about Haymitch and how he won his games. Laura shares which Peeta scene was not included in the movie, to her disappointment.
