Parsnip to Parsnip (Mad Men S7) - Show Notes

Laura and Charlotte are excited to wrap up another series on this week's episode: Mad Men! They join the gang on Madison Avenue one last time to discuss Season 7 and review the series as a whole. Laura notes how the ending to Don's story is ambiguous and layered, while lauding Joan's arc from gold-digging secretary to independent business woman. Charlotte shares her happiness with Pete finally getting his life together, and Peggy success with both business and romance (STAN, FTW!). Together the girls discuss the portrayal of the moon landing, Sally's relationship with her parents, and the role of the Vietnam War in the final episodes of the series.

Did Don really manipulate Megan out of her career? What is the true meaning behind the final shot of the legendary "I'd Like to Buy the World a Coke" campaign? And will we ever be able to get the image of Ginsberg's severed nipple out of our heads?? All these subjects and more are discussed on the final Mad Men episode of The Lettuce Podcast!

The Fun & Games segment featured the last ever round of Mad Men Madlibs. Laura challenged Charlotte to rewrite Peggy's iconic Burger Chef pitch. You won't want to miss the hilarious result!

In a tribute to Betty's redemptive arc in Season 7, Laura sipped on a favorite of Betty's: the Lime Gimlet!

Zou Basil Basil (Mad Men S5) - Show Notes

Zou Bisou Bisou, Lettuce Heads! This week on The Lettuce Podcast, Laura and Charlotte continue their journey through Mad Men with Season 5. They welcome guest Andy to the show to chat about the characters, relationships, and 1960's events in this most enthralling season. Laura, as usual, fawns over Joan's storyline and the pivotal moment which changes her character forever. Charlotte notes Peggy's choices to leave SCDP and how the this affects the growth of her and Don's friendship. Andy highlights Don and Megan's Howard Johnson's trip, and explains why it so exemplifies the 1960's. They also discuss the tragedy of Lane Pryce, Betty's body troubles, Paul Kinsey's spiritual awakening, and so much more. How are Megan and Don scoring on the marriage report card? How many times can Pete Campbell get punched in the face before he considers a personality adjustment? And do Sally and Glen like each other or like-like each other? Listen to this week's episode to find out the answers to these burning questions!

For the Fun & Games segments, the hosts and guest play a very challenging round of Kill Marry Pity Date. They also have their best round of Mad Men Mad Libs using the English translation of "Zou Bisou Bisou" for inspiration.

Laura, Charlotte, and Andy each enjoyed a different podtail for this episode. Laura, inspired by Joan's disastrous Welcome Home dinner with Greg, mixed up a Gin Fizz. Charlotte channeled her inner Megan Draper and sipped on some wine. Andy chose the Golden Lasso, a podtail originally crafted for the Wonder Woman episode.

Mad Mustard (Season 4) - Show Notes

Laura and Charlotte are back in the saddle again with Don Draper and the rest of the Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce crew in Season 4 of Mad Men. This time they're discussing the new agency, Don's life as a bachelor, Peggy's ongoing struggles at work, and much more. Laura explains why she feels this season is Pete Campbell's best. Charlotte shares her views on Sally's bad behavior in the wake of her parents' divorce. The girls also compare race and gender issues of the 1960's to today, chat about the sadness of Joan's life, and Lane Pryce's attempts to fit in with American culture. Does Anna's death help strengthen Don and Peggy's relationship? What are Glen's intentions for his friendship with Sally? And who is a worse parent - Don or Betty? All of these questions and so much more are discussed on this week's episode of The Lettuce Podcast!

The girls had an extra special Fun & Games segment as they played Mad Men Bingo during the discussion portion of the show. You can make your own Mad Men Bingo Card and play along here! They also looked to AMC's website for help in determining which Mad Men character they are.

This week's podtail was The Manhattan, a time and location appropriate cocktail. You can mix one for yourself and drink like Roger Sterling!
