Field Mix: Music of 2020

The long-awaited Music of 2020 episode of The Lettuce Podcast is here! Laura and Charlotte cover 4 of the best selling albums of 2021: Fine Line by Harry Styles, Map of the Soul:7 by BTS, After Hours by The Weeknd, and the Frozen II soundtrack. They discuss their general impressions of each album, identify favorite/unfavorite tracks, and rate each album on a scale of 5 chards. Laura notes parallels between the Frozen and Frozen II soundtracks. Charlotte compares Harry Styles to Jason Mraz. Together the girls share an enjoyment of the Korean pop band BTS, analyze the use of electronics and synthesizers in current pop music, and more. Is Harry Styles the poor man's Jason Mraz? Is After Hours an accurate representation of The Weeknd's talent? And are Charlotte and Laura TOO OLD for current popular music? All this and more on this week's episode of The Lettuce Podcast!

For the Fun & Games segment, Charlotte and Laura create haiku and find out which genre of music they are! Pour yourself a Quarantini and enjoy this musical review of 2020!

Cabbage America: Celery War

The Avengers are at odds as Charlotte and Laura review Captain America:Civil War, the next stop on their chronological tour of the MCU. They chat about the film's huge cast of characters, how it continues the MCU story arc, their favorite scenes, and more. Charlotte enjoys the heightened opposition between Cap and Iron Man, but feels that Tony is acting out of character. Laura wonders if Hawk-Eye is a double agent and draws parallels between Spiderman and Antman. Together the girls discuss the disservice to Black Widow's character, the romance between Wanda and Vision, and their excitement over the introduction of Black Panther. Is Captain America: Civil War a better Avengers film than Age of Ultron? Does the film suffer from the absence of Thor and the Hulk? And when will we finally get the Black Widow and Falcon standalone films??

For the Fun & Games segment, Charlotte had a new game: Match Up. Laura must choose which Avenger would win in a fight. Play along and tell us your Match Up winners in the comments!

Looking for a cocktail to enjoy while you watch Captain America: Civil War or listening to this episode of The Lettuce Podcast? Try this Captain America (blue) and Iron Man (red) mixed purple drink: the Civil War! Vodka, Blue Curacao, Grenadine, and Sparkling Water in a rocks glass.
